एक निर्माणी कम्पनी दो समान बडी तथा चार समान छोटी मशीनों का प्रयोग करती है। प्रत्येक बड़ी मशीन कार्यशाला के एक-चौथाई स्थान को घेरती है तथा पूर्णकालीन 3 श्रमिकों की नियक्ति करती है। प्रत्येक छोटी मशीन बड़ी मशीन का आधा स्थान घेरती है तथा पूर्णकालीन दो श्रमिकों की नियुक्ति करती है। श्रमिकों को कार्यानसार भुगतान किया जाता हैं। प्रत्येक मशीन का एक वर्ष में 1,440 घण्टे कार्य का अनुमान है। सम्पूर्ण प्रभावी जीवन में प्रत्येक बड़ी मशीन के 12,000 प्रभावी घण्टे तथा छोटी मशीन के 9,000 प्रभावी घण्टे हैं। प्रत्येक बड़ी मशीन का लागत मूल्य 20,000₹ तथा प्रत्येक छोटी मशीन का लागत मूल्य 4,000 ₹ है। प्रत्येक बड़ी मशीन का अवशिष्ट मूल्य 4,000 ₹ तथा छोटी मशीन का 100 ₹ है। मशीन के सम्पूर्ण प्रभावी जीवन में मरम्मत, रख-रखाव तथा तेल अनुमानित व्यय प्रति बड़ी मशीन 4,000 ₹ तथा छोटी मशीन के 1,200 ₹ हैं। शक्ति के उपभोग का व्यय 5 पैसे यूनिट है तथा एक घण्टे में प्रत्येक बड़ी मशीन 20 यूनिट और छोटी मशीन 2 यूनिट का उपभोग करती है। मैंनेजर को 4,800 ₹ वार्षिक दिया जाता है तथा कार्यशाला का अधीक्षण उसका आधा समय लेता है, जिसको 6 मशीनों पर बराबर-बराबर विभाजित किया जाता है। अन्य व्ययों का विवरण इस प्रकार है
कार्यशाला का किराया और दरें 6,400 ₹ वार्षिक; बिजली (श्रमिकों की संख्या के अनुपात में विभाजित की जाती है) 1.820 ₹ वार्षिक। तीन माह के समय को आधार मानते हुए क्रमश: प्रत्येक बड़ी एवं छोटी मशीन की ‘मशीन घण्टा दर’ ज्ञात कीजिए।

A manufacturing company uses two identical large and four identical small machines. Each large machine occupies one quarter of the workshop and fully employs three workers. Each small machine occupies half the space of a large machine and fully employs two workers. The workers are paid by piece work.
Each of the six machines is estimated to work 1,440 hours per year, while the effective working life is taken as 12,000 working hours for each large machine and 9,000 working hours for each small machine. Large machine costs ₹20,000 each and small machines ₹4,000 each. Scrap values are ₹ 4,000 and ₹ 100 respectively.
Repairs, maintenance and oil are estimated to cost each large machine machine ₹ 1,200 during its effective life.
Power consumption costs 5 Paise per unit and amount for a large machine 20 units per hour and for a small machine 2 units per hour.
The Manager is paid ₹ 4,800 a year and workshop supervision occupies 1/2 of his time, which is divided equally among the six machines.
Details of other expenses are:
Rent and rates of workshop: 6,400 a year, Lighting (to be apportioned in the ratio of workers employed) 1,820 a year. Taking a period of three months as a basis, calculate the machine hour rate for a large machine and a small machine respectively.
